Wilderness knits : Scandi-style sweaters for adventuring outdoors Cover Image Book Book

Wilderness knits : Scandi-style sweaters for adventuring outdoors / Linka Neumann.

Neumann, Linka, (author.).

Summary:

Thick, wooly knits represent comfort and cosiness, but these handmade designs also represent an authenticity and style that has stood the test of time. As a Norwegian, being outdoors is an important part of Linka Neumann's life and she wanted to create sweaters that keep you warm and dry, no matter what the weather is like - her wilderness knits have been used by adventurers across the planet, from Canada to Mount Everest. There are 23 different projects - from jumpers cardigans and headbands - all showcased in a stunning Norwegian landscape. These knits chime in with the eco-conscious, anti-fast fashion sentiment that is so prevalent - they will literally last you a lifetime of adventuring!

Linka Neumann is a Norwegian knitwear designer and outdoor enthusiast. Knitting has always been a big part of her family, but it was only when she moved to the mountain village of Røros that she felt inspired to pick up the knitting needles herself. The wilderness and the animals living in it are her greatest sources of inspiration, and the garments she designs are made to withstand Norway’s harsh winters and fresh summers. She lives with her husband and two dogs outside Oslo and shares her designs and outdoor adventures on Instagram @linka.neumann.

Linka Neumann is inspired by people who live a little differently and venture out of their comfort zone. This, her debut book, went straight onto the bestsellers list in Norway when published and has sold thousands of copies in Norway alone.
